First of all I would like to start this blog post by wishing all my muslim brothers and sisters an amazing Eid, Eid Mubarak! Hope you all are enjoying the day to the fullest and are gratefull for even the little things in life.
Speaking of Eid, I spontaneously changed up my hairdo today! This is not my hair, but a weave which I havent had in over a year. In my previous post I have mentioned my hair as my biggest insecurity since being bullied for 6 years from the age of 7 – 13. So whenever I change up my hair I always end up with such confidence it`s pretty surreal! My natural hair is short, frizzy curly hair which I still don`t like & that fact always upsets me because I would like o accpect my hair as it is, but I just can`t. One day though, I would like to walk outside my home embracing my natural hair, but until then I dont have an issue with getting my hair done how ever I like so that my confidene show through. The most important thing is to do what makes you happy regardless of what others might say. I love sticking out from the crowd, being a little different with all of my crazy hair colors. One moment I might have blonde rasta braids, but then I`ll change it to a bright blue weave 2 months later.
What I am trying to say is that it is a wonderful thing to know that by doing something as little as changing your hair can change your whole mindset and make you so much more confortable in your own skin. It might not my own hair, but it feels like it and it makes me happy about myself.

Living in a society where the majority of the people are white, it`s also shown by the makeup we buy. It hasn`t always been easy for a tan skin girl as myself to buy makeup in a nordic country as Norway. I can`t always buy a new foundation from a specific makeup brand without being dissapointed by the lack of diversity. My skin tone changes every season because I get lighter in the winter time and darker on the summer times, which leads to me having to buy different foundations. Sometimes I can be lucky with finding a shade that suits me, but unfortunately that shade is the darkest one and will probably not be restocked because it doesn`t sell as much as the lighter shades. You can`t help, but feel discriminated. This debate does not only involve foundations, but also different lipstick, lip glosses etc. As the picture is showing the same lipstick, but how it looks on one person does not look the same on another person. I have struggled for years with finding lipsticks that will look just as good on me as my white sisters. You get annoyed with seeing the cosmetic companies not up to date with todays society. We all do not look the same and we don`t have the same skin color, skin complextion and therefore the makeup should display the same diversity.
I think it is unfair for me not to be able to buy “Fit me” Foundation from Maybelline, because the shade that finally suits me and by the way is the darkest doesn`t sell. What about my dark skin sisters? We don`t only have light skin people living in Norway just because the majority are white. All shades and colors should be represtented! It isn`t always easy to have to buy makeup online and not being able to try it out first. What if the different colors doesn`t suit you? Do I really want to have to send it back, oh what the struggle!
PS: This is my experiences with being born and raised in Norway so I can`t comment about how it is in other countries, but for me this is an ongoing issue.
What is your opinion?
Yesterday I finally got eyelash extensions! When it comes to beauty the only thing I prioritize to spend some money on are my hair such as on weave & rasta braids. But this time I wanted to try this out so see if I´ll like it, and if it will save me a lot of time in the morning by not having to put on mascara. I got them done by a girl here in Oslo, Norway and she did it for quite cheaper prize than it normally cost. So for about 35 dollars I got these new classical lashes! I have short lashes without mascara and mediumish with, but they couldnt be seen from far away. For me it was really important to maintain that natural look which is why I didn`t go for volum or 3D lashes, because it will be too much for my taste.
What is your opinion about eyelash extensions?
I don`t t see a lot of lipstick swatches by people of color, so here is one for all of my tan, dark skin sisters & brothers. Yes, I am aware of the fact that some of the pictures has different lightning, but I tried as best as I could to showcase how the different shades looked on me. I really love NYX Lingeries formula because it does not stain and it stays on for several hours! My favorite ones are Teddy (more brownish) and Beauty Mark (a hint of purple) those are my “go to” – lipsticks. As you can see, Corset is pretty light on me so therefore I like to mix it with either one of my “go to” ones.
Which one of these do you think suits me the most?
PS: I also have three of the Lip Creams & two of Suede from NYX as well. Comment down below if you would like me to show them in next posts!
Still practicing how to highlight and contour my face, I know I`m not a pro.
But practice makes perfect!
